An Unconventional Author Bio
Where do you even begin with things like this? My name is Maddie and I love colours, and trees and shells. I love sipping my coffee every-morning. I love making gifts for friends. I love dancing and painting and not-giving-a-fuck. I love and love and love reading. I am an Artist, and a Dreamer. Mainly, I am just doing my best.

Creative Writing
While I have recently been dappling within the realm of poetry, I also enjoy writing and reading all kinds of fiction. Primarily fantasy and contemporary focused, I enjoy pieces of prose and would one day like to challenge myself by writing a novel.
I have also recently become a contributor of The Cenacle in New England where my poetry, photography and prose are published.
You can find my work within the 2025 issues here: ScriptorPress: The Cenacle

Research Interests
I currently hold two university degrees; a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) where I double majored in Psychology and Literature, with a minor in Children’s Literature, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), where I wrote a 16k word literary thesis.
My Honours thesis, Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing: Reframing Girlhood and Sexuality within Feminist Revision’s of “Little Red Riding Hood” entailed a comparative analysis of Angela Carter’s short story “The Company of Wolves” and an ensemble of poems by Nikita Gill in her collections, “Wild Embers” and “Fierce Fairytales.”
In future, I would like to expand my honours research and further explore the following themes; gender, sexuality, girlhood, feminism, fairy-tales, fantasy and children’s literature.
